Mclanes knee we found out once we got back to Colorado was a bit more serous than we thought, his growth plate was broken off the top of the tibia and required surgery to get it back into place.
He made it through surgery like a champ and had two pins in his knee to hold the growth plate into place, he will have to be in a cast for 8 weeks :( so that kinda messes with our whole summer!
At least Mclane is making the best of it that he can!!
For the last couple of years we have ran the color run 5K together as a family it is becoming a fun tradition. Even though Mclane was down with a broken leg it didn't stop us from involving him in the run. I think he had more fun being pushed in the stroller than he did running!
Four weeks after surgery it was time to go in and get the cast off and get the pins pulled out and then have another cast put on for 4 more weeks.
I would like to say that he was super brave but as you can see that faltered when the pulling of the pins actually took place!
