New puppie

Welcome Kenai Leibbrandt
We have been looking for a new puppy for Dreako (and us) and Saturday we found this adorable little guy.We had to drive three hours to get him but it was worth it.

Don't you just love his big ears?

He is playful and rather feistie as you can see he thought the camera was a toy.

Practicing at being a guard dog all ready!!

He loves Mclane just as much as Mclane love him.

Cricket isn't to fond of the new addition to the family.

Valentines cookies

For Valentines Day I decided to invite Amy and her girls over and make sugar cookies. I hadn't made Sugar cookies for a while so it was a bit of a adventure.
To the un-trained eye these look quite professional but they were iced by the kids and decoratedwith help from Amy and myself.

The Kids loved being able to ice the cookies all by their self.

Zarah just liked to eat the icing.

Mclane decided to eat the icing after he put it on his cookie, and of course use his fingers.

I think Tavin liked the cookies how about you?
During the whole thing Amy kept telling me that I am so brave. I think it is just lack of thinking. there are a reason there were no pictures of the cookie cutting. That was a mess!

Hair cut part 2

After Mclane cut his own hair last week I hadn't done anything about it for a couple of days. So I went to Wal-Mart and got a pair of clippers but he wanted his dad to do it.He has always been good at getting his hair cut but it was fun to see Adrian doing the cutting.
Now it is nice and short just like dads.

A new deck and a hair cut.

This last week the weather was unusually warm, again. Adrian and I decided to build a new deck out back. Here is the before...
(rather plain)
Adrian hard at work measuring and cutting with his new saw.

The new saw, I told him it was his early Valentines gift!

All framed out. The worst part was digging the holes for the posts, lots of rocks.

Our big helper!
Finally putting the top on.

Doesn't it look so nice. The only down side is now that it is finished it has gone back t being cold. at lest it will still be there this spring.

The Hair Cut!

Last night, after a long day, while I was cleaning up the house and getting Tavin ready for bed. Mclane decided to get a pair of craft scissors and give himself a haircut.
As you can see he made it right down the middle. So talented.

And yes he cut all the way to the scalp in some places. What can you do but get the camera and try not to laugh, while you tell him this isn't funny.

What a mess!!

Today while I was up stairs folding and putting the laundry away, the boys were down here tearing apart the Styrofoam packing that comes in boxes. I only know two people that can sympathise with me. Hey mom look familiar. This stuff is horrible to clean up on account that it is very static clingy.
Have you ever tried to vacuum off a little boy while he attempts to run around? Not easy.

This is Mclane trying to tell me that it wasn't his fault.. "it was Tavin" ..as always!

Yes it was every where later when I thought I had it all I would find more. Even when I went to changed Tavins diaper. Yes, it made it in the diaper!!
What do you say when you come upon this sort of thing? Well as you can see I grabbed my camera. The only thing I can say is this looks kinda familiar....Erin and Shauna!

The Sand Dunes

This weekend we decided to go to The Great Sand Dunes National Park here in CO. It was a bit further south than we thought, but we had a fun time.
Here are a couple of Mountain peaks on our way there they are over 14000 ft.

Here are Dreako Tavin and I after hiking about half way up. (no I didn't push Tavin he just wanted to play in the sand and wouldnt stand up)

This is the view from the sand dunes

Adrian Mclane and Dreako after more hiking.

This is the rest of the way to the top and Tavin is leaving mom in the dust.

I will call this the before the pain hit picture, there isn't an after shot, to tired.

Adrian and Mclane heading to the top.

The little figures are the boys almost to the top.

I finally got a picture of Tavins face... almost !

After Mclane and Adrian got so far Mclane gave up and I had to go rescue him while Adrian made it to the top. He is the little dot on top.

Dreako gave up as well.

On the way down Mclane thought it would be fun to slide down some of the hills.

Some were rather steep but he had fun, and I took Tavin down as well.
On our way home there were deer all along the side of the road we saw some big bucks, we know where to go next year for the deer hunt!
We had a great time, even though it was colder than we thought it would be, When we left it was almost 60 after going two hours south it dropped about 20 degrees.
We are enjoying being here in CO and all the out door things we can do, even if I cant walk the next day!
